Carrot Is Home!
Update: March 3, 2010
Carrot has arrived in his new home in Georgia, thanks to the help of Rabbit Haven supporters, volunteers and donors. We received this note from his new family:
When I first read the story about a little rex boy who had been attacked and hurt in that initial email October 28, 2009 we knew Carrot needed to come to Georgia. We had his forever home and a lot of love. We did truly wonder if it could really come to pass and our sweet boy would arrive home. But as the months passed, I was amazed at the giving bunny people who helped make this all come into place.

Our 24 Carrot boy arrived home Saturday January 16, 2010. How amazing is that! I wanted to personally thank everyone who helped with his mission whether it was helping with his medical bills, giving him a plush bunny, transport or finally with his airfare from San Francisco to Atlanta. Thank you so much!!! Carrot asked for many months "Where is Georgia?!?" "What is snow?" Now he knows. We sent him photos every step of the way! Special thanks to our donors! Thanks to caregivers, (The Rabbit Haven) Auntie, Cindy, Linda and Elizabeth for caring for him. Kisses to his doctors who performed miraculous surgeries to save his life! Dr. Harvey, Dr. Seri, Dr. Ryle, and Dr. Hawklyn. Then to Jennifer Lee who traveled from SF to Ga to get Carrot home! What an impressive, loving team.

Thank you so much from, Nancy, Gary, King Carrot & his Aunt Bonnie in GA

Carrot on the plane to Georgia Carrot home at last

November 27, 2009
Hello, I have a mom now so please help me get home for the holidays. Love, Carrot.

Carrot, a little Rex boy was terribly injured when he came in to the Rabbit Haven. He had a number of serious and deep predator wounds and severe mites and intestinal issues, which have now all been taken care of. He still is in need of deep tender loving CARE to help him recovery fully. He was quite traumatized during his attack when he had been dumped out in the wild. His old injuries will need to be closely monitored and he has a fantastic mom just waiting to receive him – She lives in Georgia! Love has no borders.

This sweet boy had been bitten severely; he almost lost his nose and tips of ears. He also had an infestation of mites that caused further disfigurement. (We call his scars character marks) He is such a brave little boy). After months of care and a comprehensive surgery to repair his wounds and abscesses, Carrot is well enough to go to his forever home. Carrot has happily found a new home with an excellent adopter. Nancy & her family are all set to be Carrot’s mom. She plans to provide Carrot with a permanent, loving home as soon a she can get him there. We have a person who is willing to transport him on board a plane all the way to GA from SF California (a three day adventure)

Please help get Carrot home to his mom- We need only $500 for his transport! That is a great deal! The Haven has already covered all his medical care and surgical costs. Will you help bring Carrot home to his mom for the Holidays? Make this a happy time for Carrot. If you would like to help contribute to Carrot's transportation fund, please use our PayPal account and put his name in the comments section, or donate by check. You can also email director@therabbithaven.org or call 831 600-7479 for more information about how to help Carrot complete his journey. Happy Holidays everyone. Love from Carrot who is looking forward to going home to his new family.

Auntie Heather –the Rabbit Haven.
