Kewpee Needs Immediate Rescue
Update: August 13, 2012
Kewpee is safe! He was rescued from the shelter on August 12. Kewpee sent us this note about his rescue:

Hi - Today turned out to be pretty exciting. I had been so nervous and well, sort of depressed and sad too. But today everything changed for me. At the end of the long day two humans came to see me. They talked to me nicely and before I knew it I was up in their arms. They liked me. I felt better right away! I did not know what to expect. I was very happy to be held and loved though.

Well, things got even better! Instead of going back to my shelter cage, they carefully put me in a carrier with a soft pad under my feet, and then we went out of the door and left the shelter. I wondered, what now??? I did not know where I was going.

We all got into a car and went on a ride next. After a short time in my carrier it was quiet again. We had stopped moving. My humans reassured me and then picked me up and we all went inside another place. They took me out of my carrier and showed me into my own soft, clean little home. There was food, hay and water and even things they call toys. I feel very welcome here and that feels so good. They say this is a foster home for me!

I like these people. They are Cheri and Clayton, my new foster family. We will all live together in this house. I like being part of a family. They promised that they will give me my medicine, comfort and lots of love. I really like my new foster place. Everything is special, just for me. Gee, I even have greens right now. I am so happy.

Love, Kewpee.

Hello my name is Kewpee

URGENT RESCUE NEEDED BY 8-13

Well, I thought my name meant I was a keeper, but as it turned out, I have only until 8-13th to live. I am in a Very full shelter and I am hurt.

This shelter does not have humans enough here to give me my medicines. I really have been doing my best to hang on, but I have not been feeling good. My eye had been hurting so much and I am upset. I was dumped at the shelter because I had an eye injury and the people I lived with did not choose to provide for my care. That hurt my feelings very much. I didn’t think I could hurt worse than I already did. I was simply abandoned, left with total strangers.

My injury? Well, my eye was swollen shut because I had a rock in my eye. I thought I would be ok because at the shelter they took me over to see a really nice doctor named Dr Hawklyn and she gave me medication for the pain and she took out the rock! I felt so much better. Now after 4 weeks of healing my eye is open and I can see. Looks good.

My eye is so much better and all I need is my medications to get really well. But there is no one here at the shelter to do that, so I need to be rescued or it is over for me.

I need a place to recover where I can get my medications. The Haven arranged for a follow up vet apt today and the vets said I just need medication-So they picked that up for me. Can anyone help me get to somewhere where I can heal? I am so worried now. I can’t have gone through all this suffering just to die.

If you can help me please call Auntie Heather 831 600-7479.She can get me out Saturday, Sunday (at the latest Monday). Auntie said with your ok on rescue that she will take me out make sure I have meds and transport me to you. Just like that!

I hope it is not too much to ask. I want to live so much. I am a nice little black dwarf boy bunny and I never hurt anyone. Will you please help me? Love, Kewpee
