Rabbit Haven Bunnies Available for Adoption
Rabbit Haven's ultimate goal is the permanent placement of our rabbits in safe,
loving homes. Adoption counseling, visitation, and education services are
available to the general public. We require that all rabbit caretakers
provide permanent homes, a safe environment, proper food, grooming, medical
attention, and the love and support essential to the rabbit's well-being.
We recommend that all rabbits be kept indoors and that they be allowed to live
with the family and not apart (i.e., set aside in a back
yard hutch).
Rabbit Haven only adopts to families who agree to keep rabbits indoors. Outside
arrangements are discouraged due to early lack of social setting, early deaths
caused by exposure to disease agents, such as the very deadly
Myxomatosis, and predators that may harm the rabbit. All new adoptive families receive discount coupons from area pet
supply retailers, and an informative information packet.
Below we provide information about the bunnies available for adoption.
Additional information about the adoption process is provided at the following

Skylar
Hello, my name is Skylar. I am a loving, white, cloud- soft California bunnyboy looking for a great home. Sadly, I was abandoned in a field and nearly eaten by scary animals!!! I did my best to hide. I was rescued by a nice person and now I am looking for a safe, indoor home please. I feel like I am a very lucky bunny. I am ok now (just a bit shaken up) and I want to find a great place to be and live with lots of love and attention. I have beautiful ruby eyes that are magical and joyful. I am very social and I want a human family who will love me and who will let me be happy. That means I get lots of good food, hay, fresh water and lots of pets. I like to snuggle too. I need plenty of room to run and play. I am accustomed to precision pen life with playtime in the house outside my pen so I can play with my humans and do binkies (jumps of joy!) I find pleasure in cat balls toys with jingle bells inside and any toy I can roll, toss or move around. I really like the sound. I also stand up on my back legs and look all around to see what’s going on. I am curious. I prefer to be in a place without very strong light and no outside for me- My eyes are sensitive to excess light. I am looking for a loving home where I'll fit right in. I do not know why my last family left me alone outside. Outside is not a good place to be when you are a bunny and pure white! Duhh.. It’s not safe for other domestic bunnies either. Oh, I use my litter box, and I’ve been neutered and I am a year and a half old. I'd like to be loved, but this time forever! I look forward to meeting you.

Sylvia
Hello, my name is Sylvia and I am a spectacular gold and white specked,
soft-as-velvet mini Rex - I had a litter at the shelter and was separated
from my partner there. I have held it together and have done my best to care
for the five little ones (my bunny babies). Now I have finished teaching
them what I know and taking care of their needs. Now that they are weaned
and I am ready myself to venture out to find my own special home. If you are
looking at my family photo, I am the one in the middle looking a best
sleepy. This is not how I look usually. I am alert, precious, pretty and
loving. I am VERY young myself. I am super gentle and love to be around my
humans. I love life and think I have so much to be grateful for. I have a
wish list...I want my own, warm, loving family- that is second on my list.
The first is to be sure all my tiny ones get homes.
I love to play with my slinky and sling it across the pen. I've even taught
my babies to do the same. I have not found a toy I cannot appreciate. Now
that I am well fed and safe I am very happy. I just need my own home NOW.
I will be spayed 7-17 then I am ready one week after that to meet you.

Lyla
Hi, my name is Lyla. I am only 4 months old and I love life!
Give me toys, and hay, then let's play! I am at a shelter because my people could no longer take care of me. At first I did not know what to think. I waited for them to come back, but they did not. I talked to the other rabbits here and they say that is "just the way it is". Well, it will be ok. I am a positive bunny.
I believe that I can offer so much love that a special person will want to adopt me right away. I am very sweet, super friendly and easy to be with. I have lovely pure white fur and magical ruby eyes. Stunning if I say so myself.
I love jumping in the air and having fun. I'm an explorer too. I want to see and feel everything. I am excited to find my forever home. I learned what that means. I am an indoor bunny. I will greet you eagerly for pets and playtime. I like music and action! Sometimes I jump up on the cage top, just to be picked up! I am a good girl. I am curious and very interested in everything. They say that most likely a person will adopt me because of my pretty self and my personality! Yea!!!! See you soon.

Victoria
Victoria is a great name for this victorious little girl that survived being out in the wild, then having three kits. She made it to the shelter then on to Rabbit Haven where she is in loving care. Her kits are all weaned now and in another foster site. She is super sweet. Beautiful with black, brown and gray fur. Her tiny feet have white on the tips. Victoria is curious, alert, healthy, seems to be unphased by dogs or cats and loves to snuggle in pillows or romp around the house. She has a special condo that she appreciates and likes greens and hay of course. Victoria is small around 3.5 pounds. Looks like she plans to stay small.

Reed
Hi, I am Reed. I'm a special, small Rex boy. I am very young and I have had a very tough life so far. I have been very frightened and had to survive on the streets hiding and finding food whereever I could. When you see me you will see my scars. I have not been cared about. That makes me feel sad. I tried my best to defend myself when I was outside. I was so scared. It was very difficult. There are many big animals out there in the wild. I have a bitten nose and lip - I am not much of a fighter. I am a sweet bunny boy. I am neutered and vet checked. My doctor says I am perfect. My fur will grow back when it is ready to. I am healthy but my fur and and my body are a bit tattered due to the outdoor survival needs I have just been through. Boy I am glad that is over. Right now I need the comfort of lots of love, food and clean shelter. Can you help me find that?

Ajana
Beautiful American fuzzy lop mix female Ajana (forever blossoming is an American Indian name). True to her name Ajana is blossoming, becoming more beautiful, more loving and more adventurous every day. Ajana is cute as she can be- when her long black fur grown out she will be stunning! Right now her fur is molting but it will transform to black silky long fur in a few months. She is so Lovely and energetic with a loving heart and curious spirit.
She needs a patient, nurturing person to reassure her with
love to bring out her sweet personality. She needs a special, permanent home and that would help her blossom! Ajana is very smart and she communicates -she can let you know what she wants and needs with a nudge or a pull at your pant leg. "Pet me, she says". Of course, she is very healthy and enjoys greens and her favorite hays are Oat, timothy and Alfalfa. She is active, curious and has been living in a precision pen set up. She might enjoy the company of another bunny -The chemistry just has to be right. She enjoys pets, but prefers playing about on the floor and running in and out of her cottontail cottage. She is so quick and light-footed. Simply gorgeous.
We recommend that this special rabbit, an American fuzzy lop, find a permanent loving home with an adult. She is such a sweet girl. You will fall in love once you look into her beautiful dark brown eyes. She is amazing. Her adoption comes with a free grooming training.

Maximus
See my video!
Max was surrendered to the shelter by a family who received him as an Easter gfit. He was sick when he came in so has been getting spoiled in a foster home for the past month. His foster parents say he is the friendliest rabbit they have ever met and he loves spending time with them and the resident cats. He likes to be held and will even do dead bunny flops on your belly when he lays with you.

Tulip
As my name implies, I am delicate and beautiful. I am a very small Dutch dwarf girl with sparkling blue eyes. I have these two children now Canna and Calla, however they will be going to their own homes soon and I am also looking for a fresh start. I would love a sweet family with adults please. I need people who are very gentle with me and who understand that times have been hard on me and I am just getting up from all the hardships. I now have good food, love and support. I am bewildered at how wonderful life can really be. My babies are happy and I am happy too. Sometimes I am shy, however I am always looking to see who may be looking at me. I need sweet deep comfort. I find this in being held gently and safely. I love music that has a gentle sound, I like wind chimes, gentle voices and kindness. That is in part who I am. Of course I use my litter box and all those basic things. I am growing healthier every day that I have this lovely food my foster family offers me. Fresh leaves of lettuces and kale. It is heavenly I even considered a toy the other day. It was interesting. I think I may just jump for joy once I have my own home where I know I belong. Please call my Auntie to discuss making an appointment to visit me. I will be spayed 6-2009, the vet says I am healthy already. Perhaps you would like to see me in June?

Bali
Hello, my name is Bali - as you can see, I am an exquisite tri-colored Rex female (spayed of course). I am sad because my family had to leave me behind when they moved, but I am ready to pick up my spirits and come home with you to a lovely place where I can be happy and have toys and plenty of room to move. I am a gorgeous rex. I need some brushing as I have been stuck at the shelter a while. They do not have lots of extra time for us here. They do their best! When I get to play, I can play and jump--that is fun. Come visit me ok? I love willow balls, toss toys and I have lots of hay all the time because it is yummy and I love greens too. I look forward to a good schedule with a loving family. I use a crock food and water dish, and I am a good girl.

Quentin
Hello everyone, my name is Quentin. I just lost my home and family because my humans had to leave our happy home. They called it foreclosure. We are all sad, but my former family had to go to move in with in-laws where there was not any room for me. I will miss them horribly, but I'm hoping to find a new family very, very soon. I hate this economy even though I don't know what that means exactly.
I am litter box trained and neutered. I love to be petted but prefer having all four feet on the ground. I'm used to lots of room to roam and play and a very sweet family.
Would you like a soft, sweet (that's me) bunny to love forever? Will you take me home? I might even enjoy a rabbit companion.
Ask Auntie all about me, she says I'm a sweetie.

Maya & Linus
HELP!!! Our human caregiver has to move out of the Santa Cruz area due to economics (what ever that is), and we need a home right away. Our mom is very upset. So are we, but there is no way we can all live in the car.
We are grown up, healthy, spayed and neutered bunnies. We are also frisky, and curious. We love veggies - and sometimes we get a tiny piece of banana- Yummmm, but only a bit because it's so sugary.
Linus (that's me) is a climber- I love to see the world from a taller perspective. I also like tossing my toys. ..that is when I can get them away from Maya.
Maya (that's me I am the rex!) does phenomenal binkies and I also like to jump up on the bed to say hi!.
We both love to be petted, but with all four feet on the floor, please.
We play and seek a safe secure place where we can truly be happy the rest of our lives. Here we are!!! Love, Maya and Linus

Salvadore
See my video!
Hi everyone. I'm Salvadore as in Salvadore Dali, the surrealist. And that's what life has been so far -- surreal. I was so scared when I was roaming the streets alone. It was very, very dangerous, and I'm so lucky to have been rescued. I am a sweet, tiny, gentle boy that was born around December. I am great with my litterbox and I'm also learning about good food. I never knew that dark leafy greens were so delicious! Yum, yum. I also eat lots of alfalfa hay and alfalfa pellets, since I'm still quite young. Can you help me find a forever home?

Calla
Calla was Born 3-16-2009. Her name is a Greek word for beautiful, and also the name of a white flowering bulb. She is a black and white Dutch girl. She uses a little box (cut down because she is tiny!! ) and she likes the water bottle as well as crocks for pelleted food and water. Lots of alfalfa hay and plenty of play - she'll then be happy in every way!
Calla says: "Hi I am little but I am really beautiful. I am happy and I can jump very high in the air. I jump up on auntie's shoulder, all the way from the couch. She calls me her little cricket. I do not know what it is, but she says that. I love my mom and my brother. However, I hear that we may have to go to separate homes. Sigh. I know, mom said it will be fine, I'll see, everything will be just perfect, but I have always been a momma's girl. I love to tease my brother too. He's special. I am delicate, tiny and most likely will not be very big in the world of bunnies. To me, I am just perfect. Auntie says I am absolutely lovely, which is why my name which means beautiful ...hee hee.
I love to run and play, jump and dance and I am filled with the most perfect joy! I am playful, curious and very energetic. I am a black Dutch bunny, just like my bunnymommie. I still like kisses and to snuggle - I take naps. I get to have greens (yes I can) and lots of fragrant hays (mostly alfalfa, we get ours form Oxbow company, they have such good hay). I also eat alfalfa pellets - I get a very good quality one. Anita at For Other living Things has it and so does Christine at Scotts Valley Feed or Glenn over at Pet Pals. Oh, I almost forgot, I really like the vacation villa and my tunnel, they are so much fun. I can run through the tunnel and stay in there and pounce whenever I feel inspired. The cottage is my castle and I can climb up the ramp with a baby blanket on it. Auntie says I will not need the blanket for long. I love taking naps with my foster Dad Ray and I love my foster mom too, Kyomi. So will you ask them about me? I can go home with you 5-16-2009, as Auntie says I will be finished nursing then. So, if you want to hear all about me on the phone call Auntie Heather at 831 600-7479 or you can email her director@therabbithaven.org. She will send you an application and then we get to meet. Sound good?"

Sadie is a quiet, lovely bunny and very sweet. She a bigger bunny, weighting about 10 pounds, and she has very soft, shiny, black hair and a lovely dewlap. Her litter habits are very good as long as you put the litter box where she tells you to. She is a good eater, and is fond of most of the greens, except basil, mint and apple leaves. Her favorites are clover and parsley. Willow balls and willow bowls are definitely her favorite toys, which she quickly chews up and tosses around. She seems shy at first but when she gets to know you, she is are real lovebug, sitting still for lots of pets. She is a very long bunny so can really stretch out on the couch with you.

Curly
Curly is a gorgeous smaller black and tan buny, born November 2008. He is a leader among bunnies. He is mild-mannered and quiet but expects other rabbits to listen to him. Oh, he is very neat too.
Curly is neutered, adventurous and fun loving. He is spirited, outgoing and loves hay, greens and being the center of attention. He'd love a tunnel to run through or even a cottontail cottage to climb up in. He is darling and has the most perfect markings. Plus those lovely ears!!! Well, he is a good listener. He will enjoy toys especially those of willow and plenty of playtime. He is small and will stay that way - Loves to romp, play about and tell his brothers what to do -so maybe he is head strong (a bit). Maybe after he is all settled in at home with you he might want a companion. Or if you have girl bunny that wants a friend, we'd be happy to help in matchmaking. Pick this super cute, special boy.

Help her relax by offering her a home today. Montana has lovely markings of white, black and brown. She's a very pretty girl and also sweet. Not yet spayed due to her size and age, Montana is a gentle little one. She loves to play quietly and gently yet she can do the cutest binkies in the world. Bong- jump -stop and then stand perfectly still, impressed with herself. Litter box trained too! She eats a good quality pellet, hays and dark, fresh, leafy greens. Loves toys and really needs a special, warm, family to give her the home of her dreams. Precious!

Larry
I am an Independent, younger but mature bunny. I think Seven of Nine is beautiful! I know she likes friends, so why not me? We match!!! I am neutered, I like to go off and explore on my own I do not get involved in group stuff, no fighting for me. I LOVE greens and hay, they are my favorites. I will play with any toy you give me. I am ok with being picked up. I can do binkies and I need some space to run around. I'd like a companion, but honestly living with my brothers is getting old. Do you happen to have a sweet bunny that needs a friend? I am looking. Consider me for a sweet addition to your family. Love, Larry.

Sasquatch
I am the shyest of my bunny family. My siblings are Fuzzy, Brad, Brad junior and Goldman. To name a few. OK I am a little nervous about being picked up - I came from that big place where all the big bunnies lived and I was one of the babies found in the flower bed. Hummm, I should have a flower name.
I get along really well with Fuzzy and the rest of my litter mates. I'd love a friend, ok? If Fuzzy can come along, I'd like that, but it is not required. Please think of me if you are calm, and gentle and you want those qualities in a bunny! Kisses to you. Oh and you can give me a new name if you like. My name is sort of hard to say. I like toys please.

Moe
Yes, I am Curly's brother, born in November 2008. I can be a bit silly and very perky. I am about 5 pounds - so on the smaller side of bunny weights. I know just when to jump in the air to do my binkies. Boing!!!! I love my brothers, but I'd be ok meeting some special girl too. (blush). I am a funny bunny and love life. Bring on the toys I am ready to play, ok? Oh, I am neutered and also use a litter box. I think I use it even better that Curly. Seven of Nine thinks I am cute, do you???? Please, I want my own home so much! I am a super black and tan marked fellow and I am sweet. I like treats, what more could you want in a bunny? I am a good boy. I love hay.

Seven of Nine
Seven of Nine blossoms in the company of another rabbit. She is mild-mannered, shy when by herself, but perks up when she has a friend. She is very neat and well-behaved. She says " I am gorgeous! Look at my lovely ears. I have a pretty black shiny coat with soft brown markings and I have lots of energy and spirit. I am ready to find a friend and go to a new home of my very own.
I am sweet, can be sort of cute and will eat all the dark leafy greens you have plus hay ok? And I like willow toys and would love to have one of those cotton tail cottage houses I keep hearing about. Naturally I hear very well. I will listen to you endlessly and love friendly people with a gentle touch. I like Larry but don't tell Moe, OK? I don't want to cause trouble.
Adopt me to find a sweet endearing rabbit waiting to be with you every day for a very long time to come. Binkies. Seven of Nine (what a name ) yep, I was seven in nine. Hee hee.

Shelby
Hi I am Shelby. My humans say I am exquisite and have the most lovely colors in my fur. I think they are very nice to me. They give me good food to eat and before I came here I had not had anything like this! I was brought to the SPCA when my family lost their house. I didn't do anything wrong. I guess I understand sort of. One minute I was in my room, the next thing I knew I was out. The nice lady at he SPCA loved me though and they really took good care of me there until the were just so many dogs I didn't get to stay there any more. I have always been super gentle and loving, but my confidence has been shaken a little. Being abandoned was scary and I still recall what that was like. I didn't know what to expect. I was afraid. I was ever so grateful to the lady who picked me up and took me in. I was so lonely. It took me days to stop being really scared and to stop missing my family, but I am really better. I am getting back to myself and I feel that I am loved. I am very well treated and I yearn for my very own home too. I am told that there is a special home for every bunny! That makes me happy. I understand my current Haven foster home is only temporary so, have you always wanted a special daughter? Well, maybe it is me? Come and meet me ok? I'd like that. Love, Shelby

Cranberry & Hazelnut
We are a most unusual pair. I am a small tall, brown Holland lop and Cranberry is a mixture of all things beautiful - he is orange and white. His ears stick up sort of. We love each other very much. We have learned to count on each other especially recently. Our family had hard times and had to give us up. Then a very wonderful lady adopted us then she got really sick, so much so that she could not keep us either. So she called The Rabbit Haven. Now, here we are in the best rabbit place around - the Rabbit Haven. We have a super foster mom who sings to us. Even though she is sweet and very calm, Cranberry insists on digging. Silly boy! He needs a digging box and even more room to run, jump and play. I am Hazelnut. I am the quiet one. I am a pretty, brown petite lop. Cranberry is also very good looking, he's white with splashes of gold over his pure clean white fur. So handsome! He's my partner. We'd like to find a home that appreciates bunnies, and where we can have a permanent place of our very own the rest of our lives. No more moving around ok? Oh, we like the cotton tail cottage, vacation villa, use a litter box and we will appreciate a hay manger and our very own home, forever this time. We will be loving family members for the right peaceful joyful family. We love hays and greens. We love to have attention and to listen to music. We live with a cat, which is fine. You may call auntie to find out more about us and to make a special adoption appointment to visit with us. Maybe we are your bunny children. We truly would love to meet you. Kisses to you... Hazelnut.

Rose
Rose is very vocal rabbit! She even snores in her sleep . . She makes all sorts of sounds expressing her pleasure , disapproval and desires. She is such an amazing bunny!. Her personality is intriguing!
Rose seems to be a royal girl (Princess Rose). She must be approached with decorum and courtliness, but once you figure that out, you are rewarded . Respect her areas and all is well. Rose is a loving rabbit who enjoys backrubs, pets and lounging about. She just wants to spend time with you.
She will also get along with well-behaved dogs and mellow cats.
Rose is a gorgeous rabbit. She really has a long, lovely face and head that reveals her keen intelligence: She is fit and trim, she has nice short fur , and is at a perfect weight. She will be a rabbit that is easy to deal with as far as shedding and brushing because her coat is not dense at all. As a big plus, she loves her hay and is happy to enjoy it in a part of her litterbox that she keeps tidy . (This means her ex-pen has no hay mess for you to clean up). Bring on the toys please and loads of love for this wonderful, loving bunny.

Lapis & Topaz
We are a pair of wonderful loving bunnies. Our family just surrendered us - We are lonely and want a new home soon, OK?
We are very good bunnies. We have soft, gentle brown fur and we love to have room to romp and play. We are siblings, born in 2008. We are spayed and have been healthy checked - so, we are ready to find a loving home where we can play and find lasting happiness.
We are a bit unhappy now as we just lost our home. We just want love and attention every day and to be part of a real family.
We miss having a home. We eat timothy hay, greens (especially parsley and cilantro), and timothy pellets. If you groom us once a week, pet us every day, and give us snuggles and kisses, and let us exercise by running around the house, we'll be very happy and show you that we do the cutest binkies. We are a super loving pair. We also keep ourselves company if you have to work during the day. Are you our forever family? We hope so.

Panther
I'm a small neutered male that was born 12/14/06. I'd really like to find a playmate or a family that wants to spend lots of time with me.
I like to play with wicker and plastic toys with bells. I really enjoy having things that I can shred such as a phonebook. I also love having a small blanket that I can nest with. My most fun time

Mascara & Marcel
See our video!
These two kids were surrendered by their owner who recently became too ill to care for them. They were adopted from our shelter about 4 1/2 years ago and were very loved and well taken care of. They are extremely social, littertrained, and entertaining. They are also the softest rabbits I have ever petted and they love every bit of petting they can get. They even come with a custom-made, multi-level cage if you adopt them together.

Yogurt & Ellie
See our video!
Ellie and Yogurt accidentally found each other and have let us know that they want a home together. Bonded pairs are so difficult to find homes for that the shelter rarely puts them together on purpose but these two started snuggling through their pens so often that we finally let them out together. Both are very outgoing and social. Both are also perfect with their litterboxes and are great family rabbits. They also blend in great with a family with cats. Ellie is easier to handle and even likes to be held when she is not snuggling with Yogurt.

Golda Mydear
Golda Mydear is a lovely golden girl with a sunny disposition. She uses her litter box and loves greens and loads of attention. Golda seems OK with
cats and adults. She might be good for a male rabbit looking for a friend. She is spayed and about one year old. She is so healthy she glows! Golda enjoys
playtime and petting and snuggle time too. She'd make a great TV companion. She lives in a precision pen with sheets for a floor. Her habitat
includes crocks for food and water
and a large hay basket. She'd love a home with gentle people and plenty of toys.

Toffee
My name is Toffee. I was a very frightened bunny at the shelter. I used to whimper in the corner and beg to be taken home. I do have a dislike of latex or rubber gloves, or hands that smell like these things. The kennel staff wear gloves like this when they were cleaning my cage. Thank goodness my Rabbit Haven volunteer noticed me crying and asked Auntie Heather to take me into her Haven. I'm a small girl bunny who likes to be pet, pet, pet, and have my ears rubbed. I don't mind being held for a while, but I'd much rather be a bunny who gets to sit on your lap or next you rather than being lifted high into the air. With the right person, I'm sure I'll learn to feel safe in their arms. I'm an active girl and there's nothing I love more than to re-arrange my room and toys. Give me a cardboard box and I'll make the doors and windows just the way I like them ! Come play with me to see if I'm your special some-bunny.

Emmett and Squirrel
Squirrel (the gorgeous brown girl) and Emmett (handsome white boy) are quite the bonded pair. They came to The Haven as babies and have grown up
together, they're a little over a year old as of spring 2008. They were adopted out when young but due to their human's health issues they
unfortunately had to come back to look for another family to bless with their presence.
Squirrel is very friendly and will come up for pets. Emmett is shyer and waits until Squirrel is getting her lovies, then he'll feel safe to
come up for his own. Quiet, mellow, very content bunnies they are used to cats, small dogs, other bunnies, and small birds.
These are very undemanding bunnies, and they enjoy running back and forth doing their binkies. They are almost always relaxed, munching on their
hay or laying around watching the world go by. But do watch your hands when you give them their pellets or their greens, they zoom
right on over to scarf those down!
They have been spayed/neutered, of course, and are doing well with their litterbox habits. They are calm, sweet and looking forward to going
home with their new humans as soon as possible.

Beagle
Beagle Pig was dumped on someone's doorstep so he ended up at the shelter. He is shy but easy to handle. He needs to build up his confidence so he can find his piggie voice. So far, he has been silent, even at veggie time. He had al little bit of hair loss when he came in so we are treating him for mites just in case. Adoption fees without being neutered are $10 but he can be neutered upon request for only $15 more ($25 total-What a deal!).
