Before you adopt a rabbit, please consider the following:

bulletWhich adult(s) in the family will be the primary caretakers?  Children cannot be primary caretakers of a pet bunny.
bulletAre you prepared for a possible 10-12 year commitment to this rabbit?
bulletDoes everyone in your family want a rabbit?  Anyone in your family have allergies?
bulletAre you prepared to provide proper veterinary care, including the spay or neuter of your rabbit and future vet visits?
bulletDo you have an appropriate cage and supplies:  pens, bedding (blankets), food and water bowls, grooming essentials, and toys?
bulletIs your home “bunny-proofed”?  Are you willing to rabbit proof your home, including covering cords and creating a safe environment?
bulletDo you have animals that could endanger the rabbit?  (Rabbits can die when even frightened by an aggressive animal.)
bulletAre you able to spend time with your rabbit – will it be a part of your family?
bulletWill you be able to supervise any children around this rabbit?
bulletIf you rent or lease, are you allowed to have rabbits in your house/apartment?
bulletIf you move, get married, have a baby or if the kids lose interest, are you prepared to keep your rabbit?
bulletPlease make a list of questions you have regarding care and handling of a rabbit.  Make sure all your questions are answered by knowledgeable people prior to adopting your rabbit.
