Jonah

Jonah saw Dr. Carolynn Harvey, DVM this weekend at her Bay Area foster bunnies clinic. He's gained over a pound! Dr. Harvey thinks Jonah's feet are healing nicely and thinks he will fully recover. While we were at Dr. Harvey's clinic, Jonah got a gift from Kimberley McCall Brown and the rest of the folks from Street Urchin Bunny Goods, a new super soft fleece blanket that will help his sore feet. Here is a picture of him enjoying his new blanket. He says thanks for the support!

Jonah continues to have his sore feet sprayed with vetericyn several times a day, and continues to be fed a high calorie diet to help him gain weight. We are hopeful that in a few weeks he will be fully reovered and availbale for adoption. His foster family can already tell a big difference in his disposition and attitude. He has become very involved with them, often begging for treats and nose rubs. He just needs a little time and he will be a wonderful house rabbit.

Jonah

This is our sweet Jonah, just rescued today. The photos make him look great! He is an English angora with tall ears with plumes. He is one very ill bunny. He has been at the vet for two days. He just arrived at a Haven medical care site this evening. He weighs 1.67 kg! Terribly thin. He was so matted with embedded fox tails and debris that all his fur needed to be removed. His back feet are still filthy and his hocks are covered by a firm layer of matted fur. Due to his overall condition, emaciation, and sub-normal temperature, Dr. Stern could not proceed with care for his feet. We need to get him eating and drinking well and see increased weight and a stable body temperature before we do anything else for Jonah. He has is taking antibiotics for the infection on his legs. Please send him lots of love and get well wishes. Note that he is wearing a sweater to help with his low body temperature. He will need a sweater to help him maintain his temperature until he is better.
