BunnyFest Volunteers

Be a part of the team that makes this great event happen!

There are many, many ways that you can help us with the BunnyFest and raise money for The Rabbit Haven to help rabbits in need of homes. Sign up as a volunteer when you register online to attend.

With volunteer support this will be a happier day – every person adds to the event.

With so many different volunteer positions, it’s easy to find a spot where you can help, and sign up for a shift (or two!). Many positions are available, and shifts are short enough that you can help with the event, as well as enjoy all of the fun.

Shift 1 – 10:30-12:30; Shift 2 – 12:30-2:30; Shift 3 – 2:30-4:00

Pre-event Transport:  Load rental truck and transport supplies from Santa Cruz to the IBEW Meeting Hall event location on Saturday, May 21 from 10am-noon.  Other supply locations in Sunnyvale and San Jose may be involved.

Saturday setup at IBEW Meeting Hall on the day before event:  Setup tables, chairs, Haven education, retail, raffle booths, photo booth, food area, inside eating area.  Lagomorph lounge set up. Staging for Sunday morning Bunny Park set up and signage display.

Greeting/Registration at main table:  Welcome and check people in, and give each attendee their Bag from Haven including giveaways. 

Vendor sign in station staff:  Welcome and help vendors with moving their items into hall.  Give them their vendor packet, name tag, Direct to booth area waiting for each vendor.

The Rabbit Haven Foster, volunteer, info table:  Actively hand out materials, recruit new fosters and volunteers – provide applications and answer questions. Assist people to meet the rabbits at event in Haven area.

Lagomorph Lounge:  Sign in bunnies, keep an eye on lounging bunnies, make sure bunnies have food and water, clean up and reset between bunny guests.

Bunny Bee retail sales:  Engage to promote sales of Bunny Bee items, add up pricing of items sold, write receipts, take sales via cash, check or credit card, and replenish supply.  Have smart phone?  We will set it up with Haven Square to accept credit card payments.

Bunny Love retail sales:  Engage to promote sales of Bunny Love items, add up pricing of items sold, write receipts, take sales via cash, check or credit card, and replenish supply.  Have smart phone?  We will set it up with Haven Square to accept credit card payments.

Unique Boutique retail sales:  Engage to promote sales of Unique Boutique items, add up pricing of items sold, write receipts, take sales via cash, check or credit card, and replenish supply.  Have smart phone?  We will set it up with Haven Square to accept credit card payments.

Nibbles Cafe:  Human food service and drink sales – Sell food items, serve food, and keep food and drinks resupplied when needed.  Clean up after tables are used, wipe up spills.  Have a smart phone?  Let us know we can set up Square unit for credit card sales using your phone.

Raffle ticket sales:  Create and place signage.  Explain raffle rules, sell tickets, encourage ticket sales. During raffle call, pull prizes, check tickets, and provide prizes to winners.  Have a smart phone?  Let us know.  Need one person with smart phone.  We will give you a Square unit to accept credit cards – just for one day!

Garden / Bunny Park:  Check in rabbits, ensure gate is closed as guests enter/exit the park, sign in guests. Monitor bunnies at play and confidently intervene when necessary.

Children’s table:  Set up crafts, and other fun activities for children – Help younger children with fun coloring or craft activities.

Rabbit Nail trim section:  Experienced rabbit groomers. Apply to Director@therabbithaven.org

Veterinary assistant(s) RVT:  experienced please.  Apply to Director@therabbithaven.org

Event Photography:  Photograph event from set up through event – compile event photographs into slide show for posting on web and to send to donors. Video possible. Apply to Director@therabbithaven.org

Photo Booth:  Take digital photos of Rabbits and their people – Print out photos on site!  Ask for full details.  11-4 time frame.  Photos and lighting assistant may be needed as well. Apply to Director@therabbithaven.org

Floater:  Not sure where to help? Be a floater and we’ll assign you where we need you!

Event closure:  Teardown, Pack up, clean up and transport to storage:  Clear and packup tables, clean up hall. Load vehicles and return items to storage locations.
