Thank you to our vendors, sponsors, volunteers and guests for making the 17th annual Bunnyfest the biggest and best in our history. The event was attended by 602 humans and over 125 rabbits  – What an exciting turnout.

We held the Bunnyfest at the IBEW hall a beautiful location in the Willow Glenn area of San Jose.  Everyone had a great time and we loved seeing everyone together at this fun environment.  Each person attending received a free tote bag with special products samples and the Rabbit Haven’s earful magazine inside!  This Earful edition, produced by Karen Thomas, includes several articles you will want to read.  Sarcocystis, by Anne Martin PhD,  Games with Rabbits, by Oxbow & Nancy LaRouche, , Your rabbit’s immune system, by David Sherwood, Ulcerative Podermatitis by Dr H. Stern and  an article on Cancer in rabbits authored by Dr Jay Stone and Dr Sarah Hawklyn.

The following vendors also have special offers inside the earful Ck out page 10!  American Pet offered 20% off, Small Pet Select 15%off plus a donation to the Haven.  Pet Food Express 20% off everything. (special coupon at event) Leith Petwerks 10% off order over $50.00!  Flat Bonnie 10% off all sales month of may!

The following vet clinics offer a free vet exam for your Haven adopted rabbits.   Adobe Animal Hospital, Los Altos and Los Gatos, Animal Hospital of Soquel, Sunnyvale Vet clinic & Oakridge Vet clinic. Check out all the ads inside as well.  Great information  to have on hand.

We had special speakers, bonding demonstration by Ray Okamoto, 24 vendors with all sorts of products, awesome vegan food by Loving Hut and ice cream by Green girl Bakeshop, plus a fun silent auction and raffle.   The world famous Haven Bunny Park was as busy as ever, delighting the rabbits and their parents who came out to play. The Lagomorph Lounge was busy during the day.  This section offers a rest area and facilities for rabbits attending the event. Every bunny gets a special treat as well.

Rabbits came in strollers, arms and walked along with their people.  All the while stopping to munch on lovely edible greens.

Guests browsed and shopped for all things bunny.  There was an ample supply of everything you could imagine.  (Vendor link click here)

The non profit rabbit community was represented as well. This year House Rabbit Society, Contra Costa Rabbit Rescue, Harvest Home, and Friends of Unwanted Rabbits joined the Rabbit Haven to offer education materials as well as special products.

Dr Hilary Stern, of Animal Hospital of Soquel gave our well attended keynote address on rabbit eye disease.  Dr. Singh and staff of Sunnyvale Vet Hospital offered expert medical exams to over 35 rabbits!    Our highly trained Haven grooming staff provided nail trim and scent gland cleaning and light grooming. In addition, our raffle and silent auction that brought in 2,500 alone! Raffle/Auction coordinators Karen & Darrel Thomas and Kyomi Okamoto showed off all the donated prizes beautifully.

We are already planning for Bunnyfest 2019.  A tentative date is set for May 19th!  Mark your calendars.  We have plans for an expanded event.

Thank you to everyone for came out to our event, to our sponsors (see link) who so generously offered support and to our vendors (see link)  and volunteers who created and carried out all Bunnyfest activities.  We earned $20,000.00 (g) this year to help support The Rabbit Haven.
