Dear Haven family,
As 2023 comes to a close, the Haven staff and I wish you and your family a Happy New Year.
We are proud of what we accomplished this year. Working together with our wonderful rescue partners, we have saved the life of every rabbit needing out of shelters we work with. This is no small feat. The Rabbit Haven carries out state wide rescue coordination and working together we get it done and the animals are safe and loved in foster care or in adoptive homes.
We made great progress in 2023. We continue to work with shelters as animal advocates, helping secure medical care and rescue services for those animals in need. We take in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and assist in the transport of ferrets, hedgehogs and other small animals as well. Our Haven team is spectacular. Our foster network, now with over 185 animals in system, is flushing and growing. We welcome new fosters 365 days a year.
The Haven also offers nail trim and groom clinics every month of the year. Keeping rabbits well groomed is important. Our Cavy and hammy program is also doing GREAT. This special program rescues these small animals in need at shelters.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead the Rabbit Haven and to represent the animals we help. In 2024, we have several new programs to look forward to. We are expanding our shelter advocate programs, launching a new foster program recruitment and opening a car donation program to help us raise the funds to carry out the Haven work. In addition, the Haven will launch a new education program to support our community and shelters.
I know there’s so much more work to be done and with your steady support we can accomplish so much!. With your contributions we can continue to offer animal rescue, medical support, foster sets up, adoption events and provide educational services to the public and shelters.
